I still remember the day when I saw her in Tamil Nadu Erode Bus stand standing with her close friends in drizzling rain, wearing black dress with lovely white patches around. She looked awesome and gorgeous, is this called Love at first sight?? May be…. And she is going to be My Third Love in my life… I don’t whether I will adapt to her royal life style and classic look, but who cares. I proposed. It’s almost going to be a year with her, life with her is a sensational touch and the happiest moments, Trip with her is embossed here...
Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Fully serviced, test drive done by my uncle (A passionate bullet lover) and ready to rock the NH7 highway night ride with thundering sound..That was my first night ride in the highway too..Life is thrill when you drive without helmet, no tool box, Right side gear... But no scariness in my mind as prem is going to accompany me... Before the engine start, two rules laid, Speed limit 80 Km/hr and relax for each 70 Km ride... We are used breaking rules always, so trashed the rules... Lemon between the tires before the start and bye from family members...Reached Erode around 2 PM and had a heavy non veg lunch in Deepa home, Heavy rain outside.. Travel delayed by 2 hours...We Started by 5 PM, touched the beautiful National Highway in 15 minutes from city… Ride was going smooth, Mountains and villages on the side ways was romantic… Nikon doing his job to capture the travel moments, within an hour reached Salem. All of sudden Prem knee joint started to pain for no reason, may be because of no interval drive in between... It’s the time for me, to ride the beast machine...Highway night drive is going to be pathetic with no goggles. Insects "Midnight bugs taste best."and carbon dust was continuously distributing my ride and my eyes are almost red...After a long ride till krishnagiri we took a break, washed the eyes, had some coffee to boost the brain cells..Time is around 9.30 PM, Thinking in mind, we will reach Bangalore in 120 minutes. We continued the ride at 110 KM/hr... All of sudden a heavy blasting sound, Engine stopped, no idea what happened, no sign of mechanic shop nearby and Fully dark environment.. There is a saying “It’s hard to find a bullet specialist mechanic in this world, that too for a 12 year old Love baby”…????..Thinking night stay is going to be here, a old man stopped his vehicle and took me to a mechanic shop nearby krishnagiri... Mechanic Ravi started his Yamaha RX 100, favorite vehicle of mechanics and for others too… Awesome Exhaust sound and no 100CC bike can beat her power…100 cc toeing 350cc … Struggled for almost two hours to know the root cause of the failure, but no use… Left the bike in the mechanic shop and headed towards prem College mate home for night stay… Next day morning bike was ready, the problem was Engine taper rod got cut due to heavy load while driving and this need to repaired once again after you reach Bangalore , Ravi said to us..A 20 KM test drive to KSR Dam done before heading towards the highway...In Hot sunny afternoon, started our ride again. Before reaching hosur, the same awesome blast sound…Heavy rain, No Place to hide, just tiny trees nearby areas saved us from getting wet... Had a small nap on the road side to relax the body and mind... What to do now? As per local guy information no bullet mechanic near by...No second taught this time, hired a mini tempo and loaded my love on the rear side of the vehicle and she is in deep sleep, No heart beat sound now…. A week passed by, she was ready to rock the Bangalore road… Another beauty is “Honda city scared of her when she is nearby”…
“370 Kms, 13 Hrs journey, 2 Heros, 1 Beast Machine, 2 times Machine Break down, Lunch at road side hotel, a new Fiend in my life. My baby screwed up the whole journey but i still love her a lot more than my...... (No words to describe) Don't know Why.I Love youuuuuuuuuu sweet heart....”
Need to be an expert in driving vehicles, Drive in Bangalore. I swear… For two months, no bike trips planned as I got in to a minor accident and my Bullet drive was around Bangalore... Vehicles condition will look good when you drive less distance; the real condition knocks out only in long drive... A small bike trip was planned to ramnagar, another NH drive not a night drive but without road tax now. This time not prem, Varadhu another energetic bike rider but first time bullet ride for him...The test is going to be mostly on Semi hill ride, Stone roads… The Maker says “Made like a gun goes like a bullet”, an opt phrase... I always love riding bike single handed and left leg in trash guard it will be an awesome ride…Reached Ramnagar , 15 minutes earlier than the expected.. People started to stare at me, how come this guy able to ride bullet... 65 Kg riding 160 Kg machine, who cares?? My Mantra "Do what you like and never under estimate you". Ramnagar one of the famous place for cocoons, most of the vehicles loaded with cocoons here..Entered in to the cocoons market...Too Many varieties in different color , People carried the cocoons like a vegetables in a plastic bag, looked interesting..Few clicks, time to trek the hills... Road condition was not that great… Stone roads all over for 5 to 6 Kms, I don’t when I checked the tire pressure but the toughest Ceat never cared about it and made the ride pleasant with no puncture… Stone road disappeared but hill road with bumps and potholes appeared… We trekked for an hour or two in hot sunny weather, fully exhausted and had a nap under tree shade... I taught Varadhu, how to drive and the things to do before kick start (Battery, Amp setting and as usual petrol on)... The worst part here is if the amp is not properly, the kicker is going to kick you back and the possibility of getting hurt is more...Roamed most of the places nearby ramnagar and the sun is almost set , we packed towards Bangalore..Engine used to get switch off often, Varadhu being a learner spent most of ride in kicking the kicker…Bangalore traffic is hectic, and my baby was drinking petrol like a mineral water and polluting the environment... Another unforgettable trip…
As time passed by, bike trip gang started to fade away. They got busy with their own commitments...winter season started in Bangalore, mist all the over roads... A sudden idea appeared? How about a trip in a chill climate with my lovely baby… “The Kolar trip”... She was resting in the parking area for almost two weeks; maybe I need to kick at least 20 times to start the engine as no chock present... “Sometimes Machine understands our feelings” (In Gone in Sixty seconds movie , Nichole Cage will have conversation with GTR 150 , the engine get started all of sudden) … She dumped my bull shit thinking and started the engine in five or six kicks...That’s the power of my sweet heart… The road was filled with mist; no clear of roads but the high beam light saved us in the trip. No hand gloves, No sweater, no shield in the helmet...There was no sign of failure this time in my bike, it was riding smoothly even in 150 Km/Hr this time...I never felt the tiredness even though I covered 350 KMs that day , a single man drive… She is now ready for another long bike trip, till then
"Rock Rock , Rock Bangalore ".... "She is just not a machine , she is my soul"...
I will never ever forget this trip and the one to Mekathaatu.... hah ah ah ah a... lovely time and lovely memories :)
