Keystone World Environmental Day Celebration 2014..

Every success starts with a single step which is called as the initiation... A Year back, keystone family with full involvement celebrated the world environmental day (June 5th 2013) by planting the flower plants in the space nearby office...After planting the plants it would have increased the ground water level by few percentage and absorbed decent amount of carbon from atmosphere... Keystone social welfare community lost their attention towards conducting events last year as most of them got busy in their work schedule... May 28th, when I was walking towards the ground floor conference for a meeting, Shashank asked me what the plan for the World environment day? Till that time I was thinking no one is showing interest, after his word I felt energetic and that was the first step for the success of this year’s World Environment day celebration. I replied back, we will do something interesting where all the people participation will be there.

First I started to find out the people who are interested in giving the ideas and organizing the events. We formed a team of five, different suggestions came from each one of us in the team and at last we sticked to the plan of gifting money plants to everyone and maintain them in their cubicle , when the plant grow not only the cubicle looks beautiful but also it serves for better environment.. The other plan was to clean the Laptop by using the used tooth brush, this idea was mainly to convey stay tidy. Due to different opions the plan of cleaning laptop was dropped out. During the Monthly cake cutting event, niranjan and Shashank announced about the overview of the celebration but not the actual plan of gifting money plants. It’s said, get a reusable water bottle filled with water and a tooth brush. People were asked to either come in green or white color attire on June 5th.After this announcement two more people (Senthil and Anchal) showed their interest in organizing the events, so I asked senthil to support me in getting the money plants from local nursery and anchal to prepare a Microsoft presentation which shows how humans can protect the environment in day today life from destroying it.

June 4th Me along with Niranjan, Shanshank and senthil gone to local nursery in HSR layout to inquire about the Money plant cost and the availability. After few negotiations with the nursery guy there, we ordered 10 money plants pots and asked the worker to cut the steam such that we end up in getting 70 to 80 stems... Before the event start on June 5th, we again gone there settled the amount and got the stems from the nursery (Thanks to Sridevi who was maintaining the accounts of KSWC)... Everyone was eagerly waiting for the surprise... Niranjan took the initiative and said about the plan of growing money plant in every cubicle and the brush for supporting the plant stem.. Next Shashank described about the process of growing the money plant with demonstration, in between there were few humorous quotes by peers which made the event much more interesting...

The Presentation showed by anchal was so good and reached the people sensationally, she first showed how the world looks now like Polluted water, polluted air and polluted environment with some nice back ground music... Later she showed how the humans can take measures to save the environment for a better future. People applaud with claps after the presentation is done...At last before gifting the plant to peer I talked about the future plan... The plant was first gifted to Deepa joshi then later to RK and then to other peers..

4 weeks passed by, now the new green leaves started to grow and looks beautiful...  “GO Green”

Travel Light - Pack Smart

I tend to stuff more in the luggage back while going to hometown, traveling for a casual trip or business trip to other country. At the end I end up in wasting too much of energy in carrying the luggage where most of the stuffs will not used in the trip. So I started to explore the ways to optimize the luggage space and the stuff needs to go in to the luggage back which avoids burden. Wherever I read for alternate options it’s said “Travel light”. By traveling light, we end in carrying stuff which really needed for the trip and saving the fuel of the vehicle too… “What if someone puts a heavy load on your back and ask you to carry , U waste huge amount of energy , need energy drinks to replenish the body strength (Water , energy drinks) ..Same applies for vehicle, putting too much weight in car decreases the fuel efficiency and end in filling too much of petrol which takes too much of money from your pocket. For instance, If everyone traveling onsite “Travel Light”, more fuel w
