1.5 Months of Cycling.."Staying Healthy"

For past 1.5 months I am cycling to office daily, it gives me a sense of joy while cycling. The reason why I started cycling is mainly to get some physical fitness and stay healthy. Being a software engineer it’s tough for me to put a concrete schedule for physical exercise, so thought of alternative plan. 2 months back i planned for a cycling trip to turahalli forest alone, asked Mahesh one of my peer to lend his bicycle for a weekend he agreed and got his bicycle but I am able to trip due to some injury…Till now the bicycle is with me and I am using it, my bicycle from hometown is on the way.

These days in Bangalore I see so many chaps cycling and happy to see that, atleast 1% of air pollution is getting reduced and in future I am sure that there will be so many bicycles in streets... “Time to burn fat”. Few weeks back when I was reading times of India e paper, there were statements and it sounds very much true and thus increased my awareness about my surroundings.

  • If humans control the pollution now, earth will live extra 2 billion years.
  • Due to Global warming, India and china will war in 2050 for water (Himalaya’s glaciers).
My wife and parents used to say always, don’t cycle in hot weather... In reply I say, Bangalore used to be a trip place a decade back due to its awesome weather but now it’s became too hot due to people like me (Software engineers).. And it’s the time to bring back Bangalore to its original (Not 100% atleast 20 to 30%).. A small step makes huge difference... By cycling

  • You’ll get to the destination faster.
  • Burning the fat not the fuel --You can get fit without trying too hard.
  • Save the planet from carbon Emissions.
  • You’ll make more money -- Petrol is a rich man fuel these day
  • Avoid pollution.
  • Relaxing and stress buster after office work.
  • Beat illness and Being happy.
  • Mainly "No bribe to Police Man".. (No Emission test needed, No Vehicle tax)
And Mainly Before you start cycling  , Make sure
  •  You wear helmet , Even we ride safe there are some people who drive like idots.
  •  To avoid dehydration , have a bottle of Butter milk , Lemon juice , water.
  •  Avoid listening to music while driving.

Cultural committee in keystone organizes events monthly to motivate the employees and to engage the people during events... There are set of people who belong to CC team and they meet monthly once to discuss and finalize the event for the current month. As usual, people belong to CC team met in a room along with HR for discussion... We came up with so many event ideas and ended up with one. It’s the shahins idea “Philanthropic event”. Everyone came up with idea like helping the orphanage, providing need things to Kids in Government school, helping street beggars and so on. Surfed the internet and plotted the various areas in Bangalore where the government school needed things and Orphanages... The Main thumb rule we had is “if searching for Orphanage, search for orphanage which is not famous and which really needed help” as some Orphanages in Bangalore are fake. After week of internet surfing , Shahin and Niranjan finalized Desire society Orphanage in the Bannergata Road   ...
